Meade County E-911 Dispatcher Jeremy Miller was honored by members of Meade County Fiscal Court during their regular monthly meeting Tuesday (4\/9) night. Miller was on duty on March 3, when his co-worker became choked on a piece of food that they were eating and was not able to breathe. Miller’s quick efforts of administering the heimlich maneuver to dislodged the food allowing the victim to begin breathing again.<\/p>\n
On Tuesday night, with his wife and several co-workers in attendance, Meade County Judge Executive Gerry Lynn read a proclamation and presented Miller with a plaque as display of appreciation for his heroic efforts. <\/p>\n
Miller encourages everyone to take the time to learn how to assist a choking victim and to learn CPR. Its a small amount of time to learn these valueable skills that could save someones life.<\/p>\n
Miller is a twelve year employee of the Meade County E-911 Center and is one of about a dozen dispatchers, who work various shifts around the clock to provide the first line of information for the police, fire and ems calls that bring first responders to the aide of those in distress.<\/p>\n
