Local fire departments worked the several weekends to collect $5.7 million for the Crusade For Children during the 66th annual telethon.<\/p>\n
In Meade County, totals collected were just over $42,000. The announced department totals were:<\/p>\n
Flaherty Fire Department: $17,776.38
\nPayneville Fire Department: $11,118.03
\nEkron Fire Department: $8,774.56
\nMeade County Fire Protection District: $4,290.07<\/p>\n
In Breckinridge County, fire departments collected nearly $72,802.85. Totals by department were:<\/p>\n
Harned- $30,013.13
\nHardinsburg- $27,133.00
\nIrvington- $4,577.77
\nMcDaniels- $4,576.78
\nWebster- $4,000.00
\nCuster- $2,502.17<\/p>\n
