Electrolux early Monday (12\/07) morning.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Electrolux first announced it was purchasing GE&#8217;s appliance business for $3.3 billion in September, 2014.<\/p>\n<p>The U.S. Department of Justice challenged the deal in court this summer, saying the combination of of the two appliance businesses would lead to less competition, higher prices, and fewer options.<\/p>\n<p>The proposed deal included a breakup fee of $175 million.<\/p>\n<p>Shares in Electrolux plummeted on the Stockholm Exchange Monday, falling more than 12% in morning trading.<br \/>\nSource:
