Mayor Joseph Noon said they had never been asked to post the agenda before but that would be no problem. He said a meeting agenda could be posted on the front door of City Hall and also on the gym door prior to the meetings.

The council heard the second reading of Ordinance 360. After hearing the second reading of the ordinance, the council voted, with a 4 to 1 vote, to approved the operating budget for the City of Muldraugh for the fiscal year of July 1, 2019 through June 30, 2020.

Mayor Noon asked the council to approve a resolution between the City of Muldraugh and the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet for the repairs of Chenault Street and Walter Road. In this resolution, the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet has agreed to reimburse the City of Muldraugh for up to $51,052 for these repairs. The council unanimously approved the resolution. The work is expected to begin later this year.

Councilman Curtis Kelley advised the council that he had heard of a used 6 passenger fire truck that was available for sale in the amount of $25,000. Kelley said one of their current trucks has several issues but would make a good water transport truck. He advised the fire department that had the truck for sale would be willing to have the truck at the regular meeting next month for the council to see if they were interested. Other council members thought it would be worth considering.

Mayor Noon advised the council that Jodie Dresel had contacted him concerning getting the sewer line at the old Dairy Mart property uncapped. The Mayor stated the line would have to be inspected before it could be reconnected to the city sewer system. This has been an ongoing problem for a while between the city and the landowner, so the Mayor asked the council for permission to hire a certified person, that had never worked for the city or the landowner, to video the sewer line. The council voted to hire someone to video the sewer line, provided the landowner would give them permission. The Mayor said if the sewer line passes the video inspection, the line will be reconnected to the city sewer system and if it doesn’t, it would be the responsibility of the landowner to fix the line before being reconnected to the city sewer system.

In closing the Mayor asked the council to consider paying Code Enforcement Officer Jim Heavrin a monthly wage of around $200 per month.

The next regular monthly meeting of the Muldraugh City Council is scheduled for February 11, 2020.

Muldraugh City Council met Monday evening for their regular monthly meeting with 5 of it’s 6 members present.

"_jetpack_memberships_contains_paywalled_content":false
_jetpack_featured_image_duplicate_dismissed":0
_jetpack_memberships_contains_paid_content":false
[59

post-27619","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-news","entry
"publishpress_future_workflow_manual_trigger":
["GET
