Meade County Circuit Judge Bruce Butler denied the request by the Lincoln Trail Grain Growers and individual farmers seeking to keep Consolidated Grain and Barge from closing and void agreements pertaining to the Nucor facility.<\/p>\n
The group claims county officials violated open meeting laws in reaching the agreement with Nucor, which has purchased the ground from the Meade County-Brandenburg Industrial Authority To construct a state of the art steel plating mill.<\/p>\n
Plans were announced last March for Nucor to building a 1.3 billion facility along the Ohio River that would employ 400 full-time workers. Consolidated Grain and Barge planned to close their Brandenburg grain facility on January 31, 2020 which impacts 16 employees.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
