After an extensive search and interview process, the Meade County Board of Education has selected Dr. Mark Martin to become the district\u2019s next Superintendent.<\/p>\n
The School District made the announcement by social media Sunday (5\/3) afternoon. Martin will begin his new duties on July 1. He will fill the position as a result of Dr. John Millay\u2019s retirement in February.<\/p>\n
Martin currently serves the district as Director of Special Education and several other key coordinator roles. A graduate of Western Kentucky University, where he earned his Doctorate in Education Leadership, he has served in education for twelve years as a special education teacher and administrator, before joining Meade County Schools in his current position in 2014.<\/p>\n
Martin\u2019s selection ends the search process where a screening committee, consisting of elected district staff and parents, reviewed applications from twelve applicants prior to making their recommendation to the Board.<\/p>\n
