The current tax of $2.50 per $100 of taxable property would be amended to the rate of 75 cents per $100 of taxable property. A second reading of the amendment will be heard at a upcoming meeting of the council. Mayor Joseph Noon asked the council to reconsider the presented bid for a Ford F350 truck for the Public Works department. Mayor Noon said that the original price that was presented to the council was incorrect from the dealer. The presented price during their regular monthly meeting on January 11 was $35,895. The price mix up occurred with dealer which resulted in a difference of $1,611.76. The council approved the updated price of $37,506.76.<\/p>\n<p>Mayor Noon asked the council to consider the option of selling the city owned property at 702 South Dixie Highway. After discussion of the agenda item the council voted to declare the property surplus. No other action was taken on the issue.
