A Radcliff man was arrested Friday evening after a woman was found dead near the back door of his residence Friday morning.

Radcliff police were contacted at 10:58 a.m. Friday when a neighbor called after seeing a body in the back of the residence on Scenic Drive.

Radcliff police said 27 year-old Angela Dawn Kerr, of Grayson County, was found dead and naked outside the back door of the residence after being shot multiple times. Police said Kerr’s clothes had been cut off of her at some point during the assault inside the residence and it was evident that Kerr had been brought out of the home and left there.

According to an arrest citation, 31 year-old Joseph Eugene Meredith, who lived at 870 Scenic Drive, was located on foot around 6:20 p.m. Friday at the intersection of Scenic Drive and Chad Court, about two blocks from his home. Police took him to police headquarters where he was questioned and charged at 8:15 p.m. with murder, abuse of a corpse and possession of a handgun by a convicted felon.

Detectives early in the investigation had targeted Meredith as a suspect and began searching for him.

When police saw Meredith, he was in possession of a handgun that is believed to be the weapon used in the murder.

He is lodged in the Hardin County Detention Center in lieu of a $500,000 cash bond.
