Lynn Emergency Services Building at 999 Armory Place in Brandenburg.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>The new facility will enhance the operations of the county&#8217;s medical response in the community. The project was the biggest county owned endeavor launched by the late Judge Executive Gerry Lynn, who saw the extensive needs in the medical community. The ceremony included comments from Judge Lynn&#8217;s wife, Nancy Lynn and his son-law Bob Davis. The new facility is updated functional space for that features administration and billing offices, a training room, kitchen, upstairs living quarters that features common area, five bedrooms and three full bathrooms, along with work stations. The building also is a first for the county by including office and work space for the county coroner&#8217;s office. That section of the building provides a private area for the officials to meet with grieving families and has been used 30 times since December. The main feature is local refrigeration unit which allows faster access for organ donations. County Corner Billy Adams said that a cornea harvest has already been conducted in the new facility that has help someone&#8217;s sight.<\/p>\n<p>Meade County EMS Director Mike Wise said that planning and design of the building was developed for the fast response and each detail was under the attention of Judge Lynn until his sudden death. The station will host various hours worth of training for emergency responders and will soon support a second crew to help with handle call volumes.<\/p>\n<p>At the end of the ceremony, Judge Executive Leslie Stith said the day is the beginning of new chapter for the medical services in the county. He introduced Scotty Brown of Prodigy Construction, the general contractor of the project. Brown shared his experience of needing the medical attention during a heart attack, in which Meade County EMS and Payneville Fire Department responded and assisted him during the night. He said that he coded on the way to the a hospital in Louisville and credits the training and expertise of the Meade County EMS crew for saving his life. Brown presented Mike Wise and Judge Executive Stith a check in the amount of $10,000 as thank you.
