Leslie Daniels, 27, and 28-year-old Nora Sawyers appeared in Boyd County Circuit Court on Friday. They pleaded not guilty to murder charges in the death of their son, Landen Daniels, and each is being held in jail on $100,000 bond.<\/p>\n
Maj. Mark McDowell of the Ashland Police Department has said the child died due to blunt force trauma consistent with shaken baby syndrome. He says the baby was bleeding in the brain and had a detached retina.<\/p>\n
The child was taken to a hospital after he was found unresponsive on June 10. McDowell says the baby died on June 13.
