\nAn Upton man is facing multiple charges, including murder, after a crash that killed two people in Hart County Saturday evening.<\/p>\n
\nAn Upton man is facing multiple charges, including murder, after a crash that killed two people in Hart County Saturday evening.<\/p>\n
Kentucky State Police say 27 year-old Manuel Crespo of Upton was driving a van in Bonnieville on U.S. 31-W when he hit a car driven by 66 year-old Angela Damico of Bonnieville. No one was injured in that crash.<\/p>\n
Police say Crespo then fled the scene and while attempting to pass another car on 31-W, he crossed over into the opposite lane and hit a van driven by 50 year-old James Haycraft of Clarkson. Haycraft’s van had three passengers.<\/p>\n
James Haycraft was sent to Hardin Memorial Hospital where he was treated and released. Mary Haycraft, 50, of Clarkson was flown to University of Louisville Hospital where she died from her injuries early Sunday (2\/14) morning.<\/p>\n
Jason Ferguson, 39, of Upton was also flown to the University of Louisville Hospital where he was pronounced dead Saturday evening.<\/p>\n
Stephanie Ferguson, 39, of Upton was sent to Hardin Memorial Hospital where she was later taken to the University of Louisville Hospital. She is being treated for non-life threatening injuries.<\/p>\n
Manuel Crespo was not injured in the crash.<\/p>\n
Crespo was arrested and taken to the Hart County Jail where he was charged with: Murder, four counts of Wanton Endangerment 1st Degree,
\nOperating a Motor Vehicle Under the Influence Alcohol (Aggravating Circumstance) 1st Offense, Leaving the Scene of an Accident, not having an operator\u2019s license, Possession of Open Alcoholic Beverage Container in Motor Vehicle, and Failure of Non-Owner Operator to Maintain Required Insurance 1st Offense.<\/p>\n
Police say Crespo was arrested before Mary Haycraft passed away, so another charge of Murder will be forthcoming.
\nThe accident remains under investigation by the Kentucky State Police.
