The $1,227,395 will be used to regular maintenance and resurfacing work along two miles along Kentucky 333 from the Breckinridge County line and 4.8 miles of Kentucky 1816 from Kentucky 144 to near Fort Knox. Representatives for the Transportation Cabinet also said that ongoing projects include surface maintenance along Kentucky 313 to US 60 and resurfacing Kentucky 1600 from the Hardin County Line to Flaherty. Highway officials are planning a meeting with property owners along Highway 79 from Kentucky 313 to Midway to discus right of way purchasing on June 23. <\/p>\n<p>The court approved the reappointment of Ronnie Williams to the Payneville Fire Department District. They also approved the Meade County Health tax rate which will remain the same at 2.7 cents per $100 of value on accessed real and personal property and 2.83 cents per $100 of value on motor vehicles.<\/p>\n<p>Magistrates approved the recent planning and zoning request presented by the County Planning Commission. The court spend several minutes discussing a interim supervisor for the Planning &#038; Zoning office after the resignation of Karen Goodin. The application process remains ongoing in the search for Planning &#038; Zoning administrator. During the search, Judge Executive Leslie Stith asked the court to consider hiring an interim director until the right qualified administrator could be determined. Planning &#038; Zoning Commission Chairman Guy Garcia was tapped to be hired as the part time interim. According to law, Garcia will have to resign as chairman of the commission, in order to accept the position. The Planning Commission will then have to appoint a new chairman and Fiscal Court will have to appoint a replacement to fill vacancy on the commission. Once a permanent administrator is hired, Garcia would not be allowed take back his current role until he was appointed to serve on the commission at a later time as a commissioner. Magistrates approved the hiring Garcia to the interim position and reappointed Susan Doleman to the commission. They also approved to advertise for a Code Field Representative.<\/p>\n<p>In other business, magistrates approved returning to a flat fee structure for roll boxes at the Solid Waste and Recycling Center. They also approved establishing a $20 fee for take off labor of loads at the center and adding a 15 day use limit to roll off boxes. The Court also approved selling the 3 trucks and purchasing new trucks due to the inflated truck prices. They also approved advertising to fill a laborer position. <\/p>\n<p>The court approved a request from Meade County Sheriff Phillip Wimpee to fund 2 new deputies and 1 patrol vehicle at a price of $190,000. Sheriff Wimpee told court members that the known growth and the additional potential growth of the county needs to considered for the safety of the citizens. He said the he believes that his budget will be able to absorb at least cost of one of the deputies in the next budget cycle of his office. He said based upon population statistics, he should have 54 deputies. He currently has 21 deputies.<\/p>\n<p>Members of Fiscal Court approved payment of $17,500 to the Industrial Authority for six months of salary of the chairman. Magistrates approved the disbursement of $10 million in funds from House Bill 1 as suggested by State Representative Nancy Tate and State Senator Steven Meredith. The funds will come to the county with $2.5 million to go to the City of Brandenburg and $7.5 million to go to the Meade County Water District.<\/p>\n<p>The court approved the audit reports for the Meade County Sheriff&#8217;s Department for 2020 and the E911 Center. They also approved new job descriptions for positions in the E911 Center. County leaders approved accepting the lowest bid of road salt and an additional $13,420 from Prodigy Construction related to the removal of a septic tank and lateral field at the new EMS Station 3 in Payneville. <\/p>\n<p>Magistrates approved a request to allow the City of Irvington to install water line along Long Valley Road. They also approved a resolution for use of ARPA Funds for the EMS Station 3, E911 Center phase 1, and new Parks and Recreation addition construction projects. Magistrates conducted and approved the second reading of the proposed $37.4 million 2022-23 county budget.<\/p>\n<p>The court will meet next during a special called meeting on Tuesday, June 28 at 8:30 AM to finish the out the current fiscal year.
