Officers said they found a man inside a vehicle with an apparent gunshot wound. He was taken to UofL Hospital with critical injuries.<\/p>\n
The incident caused the interstate in the area to be closed for two hours while police began piecing together the investigation. <\/p>\n
Due to the severity of the injuries, the Louisville Metro Homicide Unit is handling the investigation.<\/p>\n
Police did not say if any arrests were made in connection to the incident but said all parties have been accounted for. It is still unclear if Sunday’s shooting was targeted or random.<\/p>\n
For Louisville, it marked the third shooting in three days, taking place on Louisville roadways.<\/p>\n
In the early hours of Friday, a Metro Police officer was flagged down by a motorist on the Watterson near the Breckenridge Lane overpass. That officer noticed a vehicle riddled by bullet holes and the driver who was injured by broken glass.<\/p>\n
Police believed the incident may have happened on the interstate near Poplar Level Road.<\/p>\n
That victim was transported to the hospital for treatment.<\/p>\n
Saturday night, Shively Police said 42-year-old Rickey Jones Jr. died from a gunshot wound, driving his car on the interstate.<\/p>\n
Officers with the department said the shooting happened on the Watterson in the area of Cane Run Road.<\/p>\n
