Trick or Treating will take place between 5:30 and 8 pm on Monday, October 31. The court also approved a matching funds request of $3,000 for the Christmas By The River by the City of Brandenburg. Magistrates also approved an interlocal agreement with the city of Brandenburg for driveway construction work related to the new waste treatment plant. <\/p>\n
Fiscal Court approved House Bill 1 Resolution for state funding of water projects approved by the Lincoln Trail Area Development District in the amount of $10 million. The will be directed to the Meade County Water District in the amount of $7.5 million while $2.5 million will be directed to the City Of Brandenburg for water projects. <\/p>\n
The court provided approval of paperwork needed to release a parcel of land owned by Nucor Steel from the PILOT Bonds lease. The parcel is being traded with the City of Brandenburg for construction of a new water tower along Mooreman Road, which will service Nucor and the surrounding properties on the city water system.<\/p>\n
In other business, Fiscal Court approved seeking bids for a new ambulance for Meade County EMS. Assistant EMs Direct Jerome Morgan said that the purchased needed to be done now because of extremely long wait time to fill orders could take up to two years. He said the previous truck that was bought has yet to be built due to the ordering demands. Magistrates also approved implementing two year contracts on new hire in the County E911 Center to assist with employee retention. the hiring of two new dispatchers were also approved by the court. <\/p>\n
Magistrates approved the election fees in the amount of $15,000 for the Meade County Clerk for the upcoming November election. The court tabled any action on appointments to the Extension Board for the Family and Consumer Sciences and 4-H. Magistrates discussed issues with private roads but took no action. They will conduct a called work session with the Road Department and Planning and Zoning to discuss the issue further in the coming weeks. The court adjourned into a 15 minute closed session to discuss possible litigation and returned with no action taken.<\/p>\n
Judge Executive Leslie Stith provided upcoming dates for the community to note. On Monday, October 17, a retirement reception will be held for Ron Dodson from 2:30 until 4 pm in the main courtroom at the courthouse. On October 31, Trick or Treating will take place between 9 am and 4 pm in the hallways of the courthouse. On November 5, there will be an open house of the new EMS Station 3 at Payneville between 11:30 am and 1pm. <\/p>\n
