The accident happened around 2:15 p.m. CDT near the intersection of US 60 and KY 86. <\/p>\n
The preliminary investigation revealed that Deputy Tyler Hardin, with the Breckinridge County Sheriff\u2019s Office, was traveling eastbound on US 60 responding to a call with his emergency lights and siren activated. As he approached the intersection of KY 86, Charles Board, operating a 2000 Ford F-150, pulled out and into the path of the deputy.<\/p>\n
Board was flown to the University of Louisville Hospital with life-threatening injuries and is currently listed in stable condition. Deputy Hardin was taken to Breckinridge Memorial Hospital for evaluation and later released. <\/p>\n
The affected portion of US 60 was closed for several hours in order to allow troopers to reconstruct the collision. Kentucky State Police was assisted at the scene by the Breckinridge County Sheriff\u2019s Office, Harned Volunteer Fire Department, Webster Volunteer Fire Department, Irvington Volunteer Fire Department and Breckinridge County EMS.<\/p>\n
