\nHillview Police are investigating after they discovered the decomposed body of a man in a local hotel room last week.<\/p>\n

Police arrested 45 year-old Nicole McFall, the man\u2019s apparent companion, that stayed in the room for days with the body. McFall allegedly told police she knew the man died but continued to stay in the room for 5 or 6 days. She said she did not call for help because she did not know what to do.<\/p>\n
McFall burned candles trying to mask the odor.<\/p>\n
Barrow said the couple had been staying at the Quality Inn in Brooks for weeks. When a mysterious smell began permeating the second floor of the northern Bullitt County hotel, staff thought it might be coming from a storage room. When they didn\u2019t find anything, they called the Hillview Police.<\/p>\n
Detective Scott Barrow of the Hillview Police Department when the officers entered the room, they noticed a male laying on the bed that was covered up with a sheet. They also noticed the male had advanced stages of decomposition.<\/p>\n
The Bullitt County coroner has identified the victim as 57 year-old Charles Scheitlin, Jr., of Indiana. The cause of death was not released waiting autopsy reports from the medical examiner.<\/p>\n
McFall is charged with abuse of a corpse, failing to report the death of a person, theft of services and tampering with physical evidence. She is being held at the Bullitt County Detention Center on a $5,000 cash bond and will be in court for a preliminary hearing on November 17.
