Charlotte Shepard for the Family and Consumer Science and Theresa Nye for 4H Youth Development. Monte Hobbs was appointed to the Meade County Fire Protection District Board. Judge Executive Leslie Stith read part of a proclamation declaring November 13 &#8211; 19 at Nurse Practitioner Week in Meade County. <\/p>\n<p>Fiscal Court approved the first reading of budget amendment ordinance related to the sale and purchasing on three trucks at the Solid Waste and Recycling Center as total amount of $960,422. The used trucks brought more than county leader expected when the budget was developed in the spring. They also heard the first reading of a Property Maintenance ordinance. The scope of the ordinance would create a complaint review board to over see determine if the a resolve needs to be pushed into the judicial system for property cleanup. The ordinance also removes the sunset clause in the current ordinance. The Court approved the first reading on a 5 to 1 vote. <\/p>\n<p>Magistrates received a rough draft of a Private Road ordinance which is an attempt to resolve long standing issues with gravel roads that do not meet county road standards to accepted for county maintenance. The draft ordinance outlines that all property owners would have to be involved in assisting the cost of the materials needed to meet define standard. Once the cost is met the county would do the labor of the upgrades and accept into the county road system as only a gravel road. Magistrates will review the document and note any changes before a first reading during their December meeting.<\/p>\n<p>In other business, the court approved resolutions to use ARPA funds to pay for civil engineering for the Meade Olin Maintenance Building and to accept Rural Secondary Road funds from the state. The court opened three bids for a new ambulance. The EMS Leadership team will review the bids against the specs. They also approved two contracts for EMT Advanced School. <\/p>\n<p>Fiscal Court heard and approved the first reading of an ordinance updating the Solid Waste and Recycling franchise agreement as the county prepares to bid the trash collection services. The revision adds a provision for a waste provider to have a single point of contact to resolve issues for the county residence. They also approved a standardized dumping fees at the recycling center.<\/p>\n<p>Judge Executive Stith cast a tie breaking vote related to additional fees for the county Planning and Zoning. The newly suggested fees would be for map adjustments, combination plats, and for Accessory Buildings. Magistrates voted in a 3 -3 tie with Judge Executive Stith voting yes to break the tie. The court approved the naming of the several private lanes. The list included: McDonald Drive, Gordon Lane, Leona Lane, Reidland Lane Kinzie Court, and London Court along with address ranges for each road.<\/p>\n<p>Industrial Authority Chairman David Pace provided an update on the latest efforts of economic development and presented a check in the amount $1,796 as refund to the county from the Kentucky 933 Water line project. Pace asked county leaders to revisit I-1 zoned land parcels in the latest update of the county comprehensive plan.
