Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell contacted the Department of Health and Human Services in support of awarding the Kentucky facility with the federal grant.<\/p>\n
McConnell, a Kentucky Republican, says the funding will help Family Health Centers expand its services and hire more staff to help treat people suffering from substance abuse.<\/p>\n
He says the community health center provides care to those who need it most.<\/p>\n
Family Health Centers CEO Bill Wagner says the grant funding will allow the organization to provide treatment for opioid addiction.<\/p>\n
According to its website, Family Health Centers provides services to more than 37,000 patients annually at seven sites throughout Metro Louisville.
