St. Catharine College has accused the U.S. Department of Education of withholding funds without reason. After about 30 minutes of heated arguments, the judge took the debate behind closed doors.<\/p>\n
The Department of Education wrote a letter admitting fault in the case, adding that a technological glitch with its computers were to blame for the issue. It has agreed to pay more than $42,000, but the college said that\u2019s not enough.<\/p>\n
Representatives from the Department of Justice attended the hearing, which they said is protocol for a case against a federal agency.<\/p>\n
St. Catharine College President Dr. Cindy Gnadinger said her side is \u201ctrying to come to a mutually agreeable solution.\u201d<\/p>\n
No ruling was made Wednesday. A Department of Justice official said the sides will address the matter again on April 4.
