\nKentucky State Police responded to a single-vehicle fatal collision in Nelson County early Tuesday morning.<\/p>\n

On March 28, at approximately 2:51 EDT, Kentucky State Police Post 4 received a call from the Nelson Co. Sheriff\u2019s Office requesting assistance investigating a single-vehicle fatal collision involving a tractor-trailer near the 12-mile-marker on the Bluegrass Parkway. <\/p>\n

The preliminary investigation revealed 57 year-old Kevin Wright, of Milton, Florida, was operating a 2006 Freightliner westbound on the Bluegrass Parkway when for unknown reasons, he struck the concrete barrier in a construction zone. After striking the barrier, it appears Wright overcorrected and then traveled across the roadway before striking a guardrail and catching fire.<\/p>\n

Wright was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Nelson Co. Coroner\u2019s Office. <\/p>\n

Both eastbound and westbound lines were closed for several hours in order to allow troopers to investigate and to allow clean-up crews to clear the scene.<\/p>\n

Kentucky State Police was assisted at the scene by the Nelson County Sheriff\u2019s Office, Nelson County EMS and the Nelson County Coroner\u2019s Office. The collision remains under investigation by the Kentucky State Police.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
