The document comes from months to years of confusion of limitations block residents from getting assistance with roads in the county. State law states that a public agency can not use tax money on private land or roads. The new ordinance has a new provision that allows the residents on a private road to raise funds to purchase materials for maintenance and allows with the county provide the work labor. The document also outlines road specifications and guidance to accept roads into the county system. Durham the specifications remain the same as the current ordinance but the new document allows for a maintenance component to assist residents. <\/p>\n<p>During the business session, Judge Executive Kok used a new agenda formula to guide the meeting. The agenda was partitioned into sections of old and new business with a new section titled Consent Agenda. The new section encompasses all acknowledgement business items of the Fiscal Court into a bulk motion for approval instead of having to take a traditional vote on all listed items. The first consent agenda included, approval of minutes of previous minutes, monthly financial statements, claims and transfers, department reports and hires, and resolutions for EMS Fee Schedule, Jail Equipment grant, and the reappointments of Doug Cornett as Chairman, Keith Myers Secretary, and Rick Meyers as commissioner of the Meade County Water District. Greg Stith was reappointed to the Board of Adjustments; Tom Lanham and Delmar Miller were reappointed to the Planning and Zoning Commission; and Mike Greewell was reappointed to the Ekron Fire Protection District Trustee. <\/p>\n<p>In other business, the court heard an update of projects from the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet related to the Rural Secondary Funded improvements. Due to the cost of asphalt, only one project was recommended by state officials which is 3.9 miles of Kentucky 144 from Kentucky 1600 to Highway 333 in the Flaherty community. The total cost of the resurfacing project is $477,944. The county also is receiving $552,100 for routine maintenance on state roads across the county.<\/p>\n<p>Judge Executive Kok asked for action to appoint Tammy Graham to a four year term as the county Treasurer. Upon their approval, he administered the oath office to Graham. The court approved the second readings of ordinances related to the franchise agreement for the Solid Waste Disposal and the proposed 2023-24 fiscal year budget. The also approved the first reading of ordinance for hiring of Planning and Zoning Staff. <\/p>\n<p>The court approved the naming of a private road along Rock Ridge Road as Edgar Boulevard for E911 addressing purpose.<\/p>\n<p>The court met in half hour closed session to discuss possible sale of acquisition of real property and to conduct a discussion between a public agency and a business entity concerning a specific proposal that could be jeopardize the siting, retention, expansion, or upgrading of the business. After the closed session, the court returned to approve action to accept a environmental covenant.<\/p>\n<p>Judge Executive Kok reminded the court of a upcoming town hall meeting in the Sixth District that will be held on Monday, June 26 at 6:30 pm at the Payneville Fire Department.
