\nA joint investigation by the Ohio County Sheriff’s Office and the Hartford Police Department resulted in the arrest of two women in the Rosine area. The initial investigation revealed the pair wanted to sell several grams of crystal methamphetamine and were willing to drive to the Ohio County area to make the deal.<\/p>\n
Detectives of the Ohio County Sheriff’s Office and troopers of the Kentucky State Police conducted a surveillance operation in the area they believed the deal was to take place. Officers observed a drug transaction take place a few hundred feet from the Rosine Fire Department.<\/p>\n
Police followed the pair west bound on State Route 62 E. Apparently the duo realized they were being followed because the front passenger was observed by an Ohio County Sheriff Deputy dispersing a substance from a plastic baggie on to the roadway. The vehicle was pulled over and the two were arrested without incident.<\/p>\n
The driver was identified as 61 year-old Tina Dalton from the Leitchfield area. She was charged with one count of Trafficking in a Controlled Substance 1st Degree, 1st Offense (Methamphetamine), one count of Operating on a Suspended License, one count of Failure to Wear Seatbelts, one Count of Failure to Produce Insurance Card, and one count of No Registration Plates. In addition, Dalton was wanted out of Daviess County on a Failure to Appear arrest warrant.<\/p>\n
The passenger was identified as 30 year-old Heather Braden from the Owensboro area. She was charged with one count of Trafficking in a Controlled Substance 1st Degree, 1st Offense (Methamphetamine), and one count of Tampering with Physical Evidence.<\/p>\n
An Ohio County Sheriff Deputy was able to retrace the route the suspect vehicle took and found the plastic baggie Braden threw out of the vehicle’s window. That evidence will be sent to the Kentucky State Police Lab in Madisonville to determine what substance was in it at the time of dispersal.<\/p>\n
Both individuals were lodged in the Ohio County Detention Center.
