\nA suspect is in custody for a violent home invasion in Valley Station last week that left an 82-year-old woman in the hospital with severe injuries. <\/p>\n
Louisville Metro Police said officers with 3rd Division Criminal Investigations Unit arrested 30-year-old Jamara Hondrea Cureton. According to court documents, Cureton turned herself in and confessed to breaking into the woman’s home in the 11000 block of Ridge Lake Drive and assaulting her. <\/p>\n
On Sunday, Louisville Metro Police Department released pictures of the victim’s injuries that the family and the woman gave their approval to release to the public.<\/p>\n
Cureton said she saw what was on the TV, felt bad about what happened and came to Metro Corrections and to turn herself in.<\/p>\n
Police said Cureton also confessed to being involved in two other recent home invasions: one in the 12000 block of Hilda Court and one in the 11000 block of Deering Road.<\/p>\n
Police said Cureton also demanded cash from the victims in the Deering Road break-in but didn’t get it. Those victims were then assaulted. <\/p>\n
Blurry surveillance video images were released by Louisville Metro Police Department of the suspect carrying what they believe was a hatchet and a 3-foot long crowbar. Recent court documents said she was armed with a hammer. <\/p>\n
Boeckman said those pictures and a neighbor’s security footage helped lead to an arrest.
