Returning Mayor David Pace began the meeting wishing council members well as he looked forward to the year a head the city continues to work ongoing projects. After opening statements and approval of the minutes and treasurer’s report the council entered into an executive session for the purpose of discussion of litigation. The council returned to open session about 20 minutes later to no action from the closed session.<\/p>\n
The council approved Lee Klockow to fill a spot on the city’s planning and zoning board. The council approved resolutions related to ongoing grants received by the city to allow Mayor Pace to sign related documents in place of former Mayor Brian Claycomb. <\/p>\n
Mayor Pace presented a item from the former mayor list related to an ordinance allowing golf carts on city street. after a lengthy discussion, the council decided to leave it on the table until more concerns are raised regarding the issue.<\/p>\n
Police Chief Brian Hagg reported that the new police department truck in operation and on the road. He also noted the he would have COP to create an update street light outage list in the city.<\/p>\n
Public Works Director TJ Hughes reported to the council the new water treatment system has been installed and is operational. This allowed the rented equipment to returned and eliminate a heavy expense on the city. He also noted that contractors are scheduled to have a final walk through of issues with the water plant make sure everything is in proper order.<\/p>\n
