According to MetroSafe, the fire was reported about 9:30 a.m. in Lynnview, on Bluebird Avenue. That is in a neighborhood just off Preston Highway and Gilmore Lane. <\/p>\n
Okolona Fire Major Jason Tobbe said fire crews arrived to find heavy smoke coming from the garage. They quickly extinguished the fire in a workshop inside the garage.<\/p>\n
Unrelated to the fire, they discovered that a woman had died inside the house. Louisville Metro Police were called and they are conducting a death investigation. <\/p>\n
A second person was taken to the hospital from the scene for an issue that Tobbe said was unrelated to the fire. <\/p>\n
Both Fern Creek and Okolona Fire units responded.
