\nThe Brandenburg City Council settled into slightly new surroundings during the regular meeting Monday night.<\/p>\n

Mayor David Pace said the old wooden desk fall apart when they went move it to adjust spacing in the council room. He said that new furniture is modular and allows easier setup of the room for various uses. Council members settled into new positions as the tables were setup as “L” fashion and allows the addition of the city clerk, police chief, and public works director to join the mayor and city attorney at the council table.<\/p>\n

In the business session, Mayor Pace administered the oath of office to incoming Planning and Zoning Commission members Dan Shook and Grant Wiles. The council heard the first reading of a zoning map amendment on property owned by Jason Humphry along Christian Church Road. <\/p>\n

Mayor Pace updated the council on the situation on the progress on work along Main Street. He said the state transportation believes the sloping of the street is sufficient to divert water properly. City leaders are wanting to have a meeting the transportation officials regarding issues of rough surface and holes that have developed after the recent paving by the state. The city is supposed to take the road into the city maintenance system once the work is satisfactory or each party. <\/p>\n

The council met during a half hour closed session to discuss pending litigation. The council returned to take no action from the closes session. <\/p>\n
