Aaron Kidwell, 33, of Greenville, was arrested for the crime Monday. He was already wanted on an outstanding Jefferson County Bench Warrant and was a convicted felon in Indiana.<\/p>\n
Officers were tailing Kidwell and saw him get into a vehicle while holding a tan and black colored Glock handgun with an extended magazine.<\/p>\n
They then followed him to a home on North 44th Street. Detectives saw him leave the home later in the day on a Kubota Tractor.<\/p>\n
They tried to stop him in the alley of Slevin Street, but arrest documents say Kidwell fled, first driving the tractor through a neighboring lot and then through a chain link fence on Slevin Street.<\/p>\n
According to arrest documents, there was $250 in damage to the lot property and $2,000 in damage to the fenced property.<\/p>\n
It all ended after the tractor became immobile after striking the fence. He then got out of the tractor and was taken into custody.<\/p>\n
Beneath the tractor was the same Glock handgun that Kidwell was seen carrying early in the day.<\/p>\n
Kidwell told officers he had the handgun for protection and that it fell out of the tractor. Officers also found two glass pipes on Kidwell.<\/p>\n
He is now facing charges of possession of a handgun by a convicted felon, criminal mischief, fleeing or evading police by motor vehicle and possession of drug paraphernalia.
