Tho Luong, 41, was arrested last month in Maryland after his wife, Kim Nguyen, was found dead in her home on Kenjoy Drive during a welfare check.<\/p>\n
At Friday\u2019s hearing, homicide detective Russell Lassiter III described in detail the events leading up to Luong\u2019s arrest, starting with the discovery of his wife\u2019s body. Luong reportedly told his mother that he had killed Kim and that he was going to kill himself.<\/p>\n
Detectives said that was enough for a search warrant of her home, where she was found shot twice in the head. The detective said they then pinged Luong\u2019s cell phone to a hotel in Maryland, where he was found in a hotel room and arrested.<\/p>\n
Detectives then got a search warrant for the room.<\/p>\n
Lassiter said there was a gun inside the tank of the toilet bowl inside the hotel room. It was a high point nine millimeter. When tested, it matched back to the shell casings recovered at the crime scene.<\/p>\n
Luong then reportedly admitted to Maryland officers that he had killed his wife. After all the evidence was presented, the judge decided to keep Luong\u2019s bond at $1 million. She also said there was enough evidence in the case to send it to a grand jury for an indictment for murder.
