The victim was identified as 18-year-old Malachi Kilman. His cause of death hasn’t been determined yet.<\/p>\n
A campus alert was sent out shortly after 4 p.m. stating the campus would be on lockdown because they believe the suspect could be in the area. <\/p>\n
Everyone on campus and campus area residents were asked to secure residences and vehicles, and increase awareness of their surroundings.<\/p>\n
In an update, officials said police obtained an arrest warrant for 21-year-old Charles Escalera for murder. <\/p>\n
Shortly before 6 p.m., a campus alert was sent out stating that Escalera was arrested by police and the university was lifting the lockdown.<\/p>\n
According to police, he was spotted by a local farmer in his barn and Kentucky State Police arrested him.<\/p>\n
Campbellsville University is a private school in Campbellsville that has more than 12,000 students enrolled in classes.<\/p>\n
The student counseling center on campus will be open and counselors are available for students. All campus events and sports were canceled for Saturday.
