According to arrest documents, 66 year-old Gary Carman was arrested for helping steal more than $300,000 in merchandise from Louisville area Lowe\u2019s stores over a six month period.<\/p>\n
Jeffersontown police say Carman and at least four other men would load carts filled with items from Lowe\u2019s stores in Jefferson County and check out at the customer service counter using company accounts before leaving the store. However, the men didn\u2019t work for the companies being billed. So, when the companies saw the fraudulent charges, they declined them, resulting in a loss for Lowe\u2019s.<\/p>\n
The Jeffersontown police Criminal Investigations Division executed several search warrants in relation to the case in November, resulting in the arrests of 48 year-old William Leon Walker and 49 year-old Aubrey Lamont Walker Sr. for their involvement, the seizure of more than $160,000 of stolen property, and multiple vehicles used to commit the crimes.<\/p>\n
Carman is now the third suspect arrested for his ties to the crimes. He is charged with engaging in organized crime and theft by deception, including cold checks of $10,000 or more.<\/p>\n
The suspects involved are believed to have stolen more than $900,000 total from stores in Louisville, Frankfort, Lexington, Owensboro and Evansville, Indiana.
