\nThe Nelson County School Board voted to remove its superintendent Monday.<\/p>\n

It was a 4-1 to remove Wes Bradley. They removed Bradley \u201cfor cause,\u201d which school board members said included neglect of duty, academic and educational neglect resulting in extremely low academic performance, failure of leadership, failing to act as the professional advisor of the board, engaging in conduct that has promoted division within the district, and conduct that has caused the board to lose trust in him.<\/p>\n

The board says their application to remove the superintendent will be sent to the Kentucky Department of Education. If the removal is approved, an interim superintendent will be appointed by the board.<\/p>\n

At a meeting in January, board member Tracy Bowling accused Board Member Amanda Deaton of approaching an attorney on her own about buying Superintendent Wes Bradley out of his contract.<\/p>\n

The Nelson County Board has also been at the center of controversy surrounding the proposal to merge schools. It led to several protests from students and a lawsuit.
