John Bradley, a spokesman for Louisville Metro Police, said officers responded on a car crash at the intersection of Southern Parkway and Taylor Boulevard around 5 p.m.<\/p>\n
Police said 30 year-old Alexandria Tello was driving a Dodge Challenger and ran a red light at a high rate of speed and crashed into a Honda Fit. An arrest report said Tello was going 60 to 70 miles per hour. <\/p>\n
The passenger and driver of the Honda were taken to the hospital. The driver sustained non-life-threatening injuries but the passenger died, according to police.<\/p>\n
The Jefferson County Coroner’s office identified the woman who was killed as 66 year-old Ardo M. Hassan, of Louisville. She died of blunt force injuries at the hospital. <\/p>\n
According to police, Tello wasn’t injured. Court records show police found alcohol containers in the vehicle, and she failed a field sobriety test. Tello was arrested and charged with murder, aggravated DUI and assault.<\/p>\n
She pleaded no guilty in court on Monday. Tello is being held on a $500,000 bond. <\/p>\n
LMPD’s Traffic Unit is investigating.
