Jarrin L. Davis, 30, of Radcliff, was pronounced dead after authorities found his body in the parking lot of an apartment complex on Knox Boulevard.<\/p>\n
Accused in Davis\u2019 death is 23 year-old Nicholas Michael Vandergrift, of Louisville, who is charged with murder in the shooting and faces other charges of fourth-degree assault, domestic violence with minor injury and tampering with physical evidence.<\/p>\n
Officers were sent to the apartment complex at 4:24 a.m. on a disturbance call and found Davis\u2019 body.<\/p>\n
An arrest citation for Vandergrift said after shooting Davis, Vandergrift left an apartment through a back window and fled, discarding the handgun, which was found 50 to 75 yards from the window.<\/p>\n
Prior to the shooting, Vandergrift is accused of pushing his girlfriend down and striking her in the mouth causing minor injury, according to the citation.<\/p>\n
Vandergrift, who was found and arrested without incident shortly before 6 a.m., is being held in lieu of a $1 million cash bond in the Hardin County Detention Center.<\/p>\n
He is scheduled to appear April 1 in Hardin District Court.
