The area has been closed since October 2023 for a rehabilitation project to the wooden boardwalk that circles the pond.<\/p>\n
Work included installation of new decking material and the repair of existing overlook and seating areas.<\/p>\n
The 0.4-mile boardwalk around Sloan\u2019s Pond traverses around the edge of a marshy pond.<\/p>\n
Wayside exhibits along the walkway interpret the pond\u2019s unique environment where wildlife such as turtles, frogs, red-winged blackbirds, and various waterfowl are often viewed.<\/p>\n
The boardwalk is wheelchair accessible and features an accessible picnic area.
