Grayson County Deputies’ initial investigation revealed a 2014 Jeep Patriot, driven by 34-year-old Charles Fuqua of Tennessee, was eastbound on St. Paul Road and a black 2000 Honda motorcycle, driven by 24-year-old Joshua Drake of St. Paul, was westbound on KY 720.<\/p>\n
It appeared the Jeep Patriot attempted a left turn into the parking lot of a convenience store and turned into the path of the westbound motorcycle. The motorcycle struck the jeep with a glancing blow in the passenger side and Drake was thrown approximately 60 feet across the intersection.<\/p>\n
Drake traveled an additional 40 feet in the ditch and struck a fence post where he came to a final rest. He was transported to the Owensboro Health Twin Lakes Hospital and later flown to U of L Hospital where he was listed in critical condition.<\/p>\n
Drake was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. Fuqua stated that he did not see the motorcycle approaching as he made the turn into the parking lot. Fuqua was not injured in the crash.<\/p>\n
The Grayson County Sheriff Office was assisted at the scene by the Grayson County EMS and the East Grayson County Volunteer Fire Department.
