Keith J. Kennedy-McLeod was charged in the death of 3-year-old Rasir Oliver.<\/p>\n
Kennedy-McLeod was dating the boy\u2019s mother. She said her son wasn\u2019t injured when she left him in Kennedy-McLeod\u2019s care.<\/p>\n
In November of 2020, Jeffersontown police were called to an extended-stay hotel about a child with burns. Police found Rasir with burns all over his body and a traumatic brain injury, which a doctor said was an indication of shaken baby syndrome. He was taken to the hospital in a coma and died later that year.<\/p>\n
Kennedy-McLeod is pleading guilty with an Alford plea, which means he still maintains his innocence and is only pleading guilty because he acknowledges the evidence against him is likely strong enough for a conviction.<\/p>\n
Kennedy-McLeod is not eligible for parole until he serves 85% of his sentence, which would be in 8.5 years.
