Demarco Lateef Coney, Jr., was indicted on May 22 by a Jefferson County Grand Jury on charges of complicity to murder, assault, and 10 counts of wanton endangerment. He was booked into Louisville Metro Corrections Thursday afternoon and is being held on a $500,000 cash bond.<\/p>\n
On April 15, a family gathering was held at the apartment in the 1800 block of Appleton Lane. Police said Kevin Kennebrew, Coney and one other man arrived at the apartment armed. When they went up the stairs to the apartment, one of the three men opened fire, shooting a man standing in the doorway.<\/p>\n
The wounded man later died at the hospital. A woman was grazed by one of the bullets.<\/p>\n
At least 10 people were inside the apartment when the shooting happened, four of which were young children.<\/p>\n
Kennebrew was also indicted in the case. He has been in custody since April 17 on charges complicity to murder, wanton endangerment, and assault charges. His bond is set at $1,000,000 cash. Kennebrew is due in court on July 31 for a pretrial conference.
