According to a spokesperson from Beshear\u2019s team, he is heading to Japan and Korea to bring new jobs for Kentuckians and also meet with business leaders.<\/p>\n
Kentucky\u2019s connection with Asia brings 200 Japanese-owned facilities that employ 47,000 people and seven Korean-owned facilities that employ 1,200 people.<\/p>\n
The Kentucky governor is excited about the connections that will be made from this trip.<\/p>\n
Beshear is to join with First Lady Britainy Beshear, Cabinet for Economic Development Secretary Jeff Noel and Transportation Cabinet Secretary Jim Gray. The group will discuss other existing Kentucky employers and international businesses considering to form connection with the United States. The officials will also meet with the National Police Agency of the Republic of Korea to sign a Driver\u2019s License Reciprocity Agreement. It will allow for employees relocating to America to have accessible transportation to and from work.<\/p>\n
This trip comes after Beshear announced his initiative, \u201cSupply Kentucky,\u201d focusing on job development, reducing costs, and giving more security in Kentucky companies\u2019 supply chains.<\/p>\n
A media release announcing the trip states the Beshear Administration is building \u201con the best four-year period for economic growth in state history.\u201d
