\nA woman is dead after a hit-and-run in the Russell neighborhood late Saturday night, according to Louisville Metro police.<\/p>\n

LMPD spokesperson John Bradley said around 11:55 p.m. officers were called to the intersection of 16th and Jefferson where they found a 26-year-old who had been hit by a car. She was taken to UofL Hospital where she later died.<\/p>\n

Bradley said police believe a white sedan, possibly a Mazda, hit the woman. They believe the car was speeding south on 16th Street when it hit the woman in the road and continued driving.<\/p>\n

LMPD\u2019s Traffic Unit is investigating. Anyone with information is asked to call the anonymous tip line at 502-574-LMPD (5673) or use the LMPD Crime Tip Portal<\/a>.
