According to a citation, an investigation was launched by the Kentucky State Police Electronic Crime Branch after the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children received multiple tips regarding images of child pornography shared online.<\/p>\n
The investigation found over 100 files of sexual abuse material depicting children under 12, according to police. Kentucky State Police confirmed that the accounts reported belonged to 57 year-old Steven Ray Hurt.<\/p>\n
The investigation resulted in the execution of a search warrant at Hurt\u2019s residence in Summer Shade on Monday. The search revealed multiple cellular devices containing child sexual abuse material.<\/p>\n
Hurt is charged with one count of possession of a child sex doll, ten counts of possession of matter portraying a minor in a sexual performance under twelve years old and one count of promoting a minor under 16 years old in a sex performance.<\/p>\n
Hurt is lodged in the Barren County Detention Center under a $250,000 cash bond. He is scheduled to appear in court on July 24.<\/p>\n
The investigation is ongoing.
