According to Grayson County Emergency Management, crews with Caneyville Volunteer Fire Department, Grayson County EMS, Grayson County Sheriff\u2019s Office and Leitchfield Fire Department responded around 9:30 a.m. for a possible fire in the area of Lawrence Hayes Road and Log Cabin Lane.<\/p>\n
When responders arrived, a fire was located at the rear end of a drilling truck, according to Grayson County Emergency Management.<\/p>\n
It was determined that the fire was coming from a pipe and a hole in the ground.<\/p>\n
A protective perimeter was established for the immediate hazard zone and access was restricted to authorized personnel only.<\/p>\n
Tim Duvall with the Grayson County Fire Department said Wednesday night crews were continuing to work on putting the fire out.<\/p>\n
Special crews were on the scene, according to Duvall.<\/p>\n
Two people were taken to UofL hospital for injuries, including smoke inhalation and burns, and one of them is in critical condition. Duvall said they were part of the drilling crew.<\/p>\n
Falls of Rough Volunteer Fire Department, Kentucky Environmental Protection Agency and the Department of Mines and Minerals were additional responding agencies.
