He received this prestigious award during KASA\u2019s annual leadership institute in Louisville on Friday, July 26, 2024.<\/p>\n
For over 30 years, KASA has partnered with the American Association of School Administrators (AASA) to select Kentucky’s Superintendent of the Year. The chosen individual from Kentucky then competes for the National Superintendent of the Year award.<\/p>\n
The Superintendent of the Year Award celebrates the outstanding contributions of Kentucky\u2019s superintendents, recognizing their advocacy for public education, dedication to children, and commitment to the future. Nominees are evaluated based on four criteria: leadership for learning, communication, professionalism, and community involvement.<\/p>\n
In Kentucky, a diligent blue-ribbon panel conducts a rigorous multi-phase selection process to determine the state’s Superintendent of the Year.<\/p>\n
Dr. Carter is lauded by his nominator as a true servant leader, consistently prioritizing the needs of students and staff. His unwavering commitment to the community, strategic vision, and thoughtful decision-making have propelled Breckinridge County Schools to be one of the best in the state.<\/p>\n
He has fostered respectful relationships with staff, students, parents, and the community, always upholding confidentiality and demonstrating professionalism through clear and thoughtful communication. His ability to brainstorm solutions and his willingness to help other administrators grow through example, encouragement, and trust are highly commendable.<\/p>\n
