John Wayne Taylor was found guilty by a Jefferson County jury on August 1 of multiple felony charges. He was convicted on three counts of sodomy in the first degree, one count of rape in the first degree, three counts of promoting a sexual performance of a minor and six counts of sex abuse, among other charges. <\/p>\n
According to a news release, Taylor was found guilty after the jury heard witness testimony and evidence of incidents in 2021. Taylor sexually assaulted three minors, aged 13, 12 and 10. Prosecutors said Taylor was romantically involved with the children’s mother, and he would babysit them while she worked.<\/p>\n
According to a news release, the jury recommended a sentence of 35 years in prison. A sentencing hearing is scheduled for September 3.
