Louisville Metro Police officers were called to a reported crash between a crossover SUV and a motorcycle in the area of Greenwood Road and the Greenbelt Highway around 6:17 p.m., according to department spokesperson Sgt. Matt Sanders. <\/p>\n
Police believe the motorcyclist, who was not wearing a helmet, was headed north on the Greenbelt Highway, while a crossover SUV was headed south. As the SUV attempted to make a left turn onto Greenwood Road, the vehicle and the motorcycle crashed head-on.<\/p>\n
The motorcyclist was ejected from the bike and transported to University Hospital with injuries not thought to be life-threatening, according to police.<\/p>\n
Sanders said the driver of the crossover SUV remained at the scene and “is OK”. <\/p>\n
LMPD’s Traffic Unit is investigating the crash, and found that the motorcycle had been reported stolen.<\/p>\n
Sanders said the driver of the motorcycle will be charged following his recovery from the hospital.
