Louisville Metro Police recently impounded a Dodge Charger for going 140 mph in a 55 mph zone. Police said a Dodge Durango and Ford Mustang were racing on West Broadway in front of unmarked cars.<\/p>\n
Police said the vehicles recently impounded will be in the tow lot for the next six months and also have a $1,000 fine. That is in accordance with an ordinance passed by Louisville Metro Council in 2022.<\/p>\n
Police said they have recovered stolen cars, guns and drugs searching for this activity. Moreover, people have been killed in Louisville directly related to street racing.<\/p>\n
Louisville Metro Police Department said its traffic unit is ready to respond, and they have already been able to stop drivers by being at the right place at the right time. If you see street racing, Louisville Metro Police asks that you call the police tip line at 502-574-LMPD (5673).
