Ricki Smith was arrested after she tried to steal a car with a child in the backseat.<\/p>\n<p>When police asked Smith why she tried to take the car, Smith claimed Kanye West, an American musician, producer and fashion designer, spoke to her &#8220;telegraphically&#8221; and told her to steal it.<\/p>\n<p>Smith jumped into a woman&#8217;s vehicle while she walked into a store. Smith was eventually pulled out of the vehicle, but a child was inside the car during the incident. <\/p>\n<p>Smith was charged with attempted kidnapping and attempted auto theft. She was booked at Vanderburgh County Jail.<\/p>\n<p>Smith told police she was traveling from Louisville to Evansville when her car broke down.
