The shooting happened on September 30 on St. Andrews Church Road. An arrest citation said police found a man shot in the chest inside a car. The victim told officers that 25 year-old Leshaun Murray had tried to rob him of his chain and then shot him in the process.<\/p>\n
The arrest citation said Murray tried to get into the man\u2019s car and then went to his car to get a rifle. Murray then put the rifle inside the victim\u2019s car and fired a shot, according to the citation.<\/p>\n
Surveillance video from nearby business, Ace Liquors, shows what led up to the shooting.<\/p>\n
The video shows a man, who police believe is Murray, getting out of his car with a rifle and head to the victims car.<\/p>\n
The victim then tried to drive away but crashed into another car in the gas station parking lot where police ended up finding him.<\/p>\n
Police said Murray got in his car and drove off. Officers tried to pull him over but said Murray sped off, cutting through a parking lot in an attempt to escape.<\/p>\n
He was later arrested and taken to the Louisville Metro Department of Corrections. He is charged with assault, attempted robbery, fleeing police, and possessing a firearm as a convicted felon.<\/p>\n
The shooting was also captured on video at the Circle K gas station.<\/p>\n
The victim is expected to survive.
