The lawsuit said she was standing peacefully with 20 other protestors on West Jefferson Street when she was hit in the face.\n\nShe and others were marching downtown when Louisville Metro Police Department officers shot tear gas and bullets into the crowd. It took weeks for her to heal from the rubber bullet shot.\n\nWhite was never charged with a crime and the lawsuit said that no Louisville Metro Police officers stopped to help her. The lawsuit says she wanted payment for all the damages, including attorney fees.\n\nAshlea Hellman represented White in her lawsuit against the Louisville Metro Police Department and the officers who shot at her for violating her first, fourth and fourteen Amendment rights.
