Dashawn Sublett was charged with possessing a Glock Switch Device, which is a machine gun conversion device, on June 26, 2024. The device allows semi-automatic handguns to function as an automatic and is defined as a machine gun under federal law. <\/p>\n
Sublett appeared before a U.S. Magistrate Judge in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Kentucky on October 21. If he is convicted, Sublett faces a maximum sentence of 10 years in prison.<\/p>\n
According to a news release, a federal district court judge will determine the sentence after considering the sentencing guidelines and other statutory factors. There is no parole in the federal system.<\/p>\n
Louisville Metro Police Department and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives are investigating the case.
