Chadwick Fleming, 35, was arrested on Friday (10\/25) and charged with tampering with physical evidence and abuse of a corpse.<\/p>\n
The homicide investigation began on Sunday (10\/20) when the body of Mitchell Jackson Jr. was found wrapped at the corner of 18th and Muhammed Ali Boulevard. Louisville police later confirmed that Jackson had been shot at some point.<\/p>\n
An arrest citation said there is surveillance video that shows the moments when Jackson\u2019s body was left at the intersection. According to the citation, Jackson\u2019s body was tied to the bumper of an SUV driven by Fleming. Jackson\u2019s body was dragged through the road for several blocks.<\/p>\n
His body was found wrapped in sheets and zip ties and was covered in garbage bags and electrical tape.<\/p>\n
At one point, Jackson\u2019s body became loose from the SUV. Court documents said Fleming tried to put Jackson\u2019s body back on the SUV, but left the body at the intersection and fled the scene.<\/p>\n
Online rumors about Jackson\u2019s death investigation flooded the internet, including claims that Jackson\u2019s body was one of several similar dumps across the Metro. Louisville Metro Police Department responded to the rumors, saying that this was an isolated incident.<\/p>\n
Fleming is scheduled to appear in court on Saturday (10\/26). Louisville Metro Police Department said this is still an open and ongoing investigation.
